Advisors are students who were picked by the Coordinators last spring after a strenuous application process. They come into Rice two weeks early to help you get adjust to Rice and make sure you have a great time. Co-Advisors are advisors from a different college, and can tell you a little bit more about residential life in other colleges if you're interested. Some Advisors, such as the Historian, Gopher, or Rice Health Advisor, have other duties that will further help you adjust to life at Rice.

Coordinators refer to the people who work during the spring semester as well as the summer to plan O-Week at their residential college. For Jones, your 2017 O-Week Coordinators are: Dorian Korein '19, Evan Toler '18, and Josh Perez '19. The three of them were elected by all of Jones College to make sure that your O-Week prepares you for life at Rice while making sure you have a good time. Don't hesitate to contact them over the summer if you have any questions! All you need to do is email jonesoweek2017@gmail.com and they'll answer you as soon as possible.

Every new student has been placed in a group of nine or ten new students and paired with a set of Advisors. These groups are commonly referred to as O-Week Groups. Most of these groups are composed of two Jones Advisors, one Co-Advisor, and another Advisors with an extra duty, such as being a Peer Academic Advisor or Diversity Facilitator. Your advisors will take you and your group to info sessions, Target, late night food, and more! They'll be a resource for you in the coming years, so get to know them well!

About Sam And FrodO-Week

O-Week is short for Orientation Week, a week set aside at Rice University for all new students at Rice. Each of the eleven residential colleges runs it's own O-Week, complete with its own theme. Jones College's theme for O-Week 2017 is Sam and FrodO-Week: One Week to Rule Them All! We hope that by the end of this week, you'll feel that Jones is your home and feel that truly, there's no place like Jones.

Welcome to Jones College!
