O-week
Move-In
Move-in day is Sunday, August 13, 2017, and arrival times are organized by floor. We have shifts for moving in because of space limitations, so please come at the correct time. You will be able to drive up to Jones, unload all of your belongings for the Advisors to bring in, and then park your vehicle elsewhere; we will send you more instructions about this later in the summer. When you arrive, your very excited Advisors will clamor to see if you are one of their lucky few. These crazy kids will greet you like they’ve been waiting their entire lives to meet you! They will walk you down the Pelennor Fields to Isengard (the Jones Magisters’ House) to meet Jason and Jennifer (the Jones Magisters), Michelle Bennack (our College Coordinator), Kerri Barber and Ian Schimmel and Allison Leedie (our RAs) and the O-Week Coordinators (who will also be extremely excited to meet you!). There you will get your t-shirt, keys, and have your picture taken by our O-Week Historians.

Lunch in the commons with families, Advisors, and college personnel. There will be good food and a brief intro for the week.
Parents stay in the commons for introduction to Jones and Q&A session with Jones Magisters, RAs, College Coordinator, and O-Week Coordinators. Say “goodbye” to your families at 12:45, since you will not see them again during the week. (Parents really do need to say “goodbye” and leave at this time. They are not allowed back at Jones during O-Week and must leave campus by 6 p.m. after the New Families’ Orientation.).
Families go to the Tudor Fieldhouse for the New Families Orientation, while students divide up into their O-Week groups.
(New Students only) Dinner in the Jones Commons.
(New Students only) Matriculation ceremony in Tudor Fieldhouse. Bring a nice outfit for this. A dress or a button up and khakis should work.
